bec 1

Bec’s occupational therapy career has spanned 14 years, primarily working with children in the South Australia school system, private practice, community development and health promotion in Adelaide, Coober Pedy and rural Cambodia as well as a brief period with adults in mental health. She was the first occupational therapist to be employed in the South Australian education system on a full time basis; and has been a clinical educator and tutor for occupational therapy students for the last 4 years as well as TAFE lecturer in health sciences.

Bec uses an eclectic approach, having completed two OT degrees and extensive professional development training. Her unique methodology incorporates art therapy, kid’s yoga, mindfulness, behavioural therapies,
sensory processing theory, environmental adaptation and caregiver education.

Bec sees clients in education settings and at the
SMART [Sensory, Movement, Art, Resources, Therapy] studio at The Yoga Centre, and runs small groups, caregiver training, personal development workshops and kid’s yoga classes with a variety of funding options. She also provides art therapy for adults to process life issues. She is passionate about enabling and empowering individuals to participate in a meaningful life and the power of the arts for self- expression and healing.
